After worldwide criticism by cricket fans and pundits, the Cricket Australia(CA) finally announced the verdict. CA CEO James Sutherland who arrived in South Africa, finally announced about the sanctions.
Steve Smith, the Australian captain who was the mastermind behind the ball tampering has been slapped with a one year ban. His deputy David Warner has been also handed with one year ban. On the other Cameron Bancroft who carried out the plan of tampering the ball has been banned for Nine month. Cricket Australia was under tremendous pressure to put heavy sanction on the guilty players after non-stop backlash from the cricket world.


To rub salt on the wounds, both Steve Smith and David Warner have been banned from playing in the cash rich tournament IPL by the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI).
Cameron Bancroft and Steve Smith were accused of tampering the condition of the ball during the 3rd Test Match against South Africa. Bancroft was caught by the cameraman. After this they both confessed during press conference with the reporters that they tried to alter the condition of the ball for personal gain. This type of practice have been banned by the International Cricket Council(ICC).
Also the three players have been asked to fly back to Australia from the test series. It is the highest suspension for any Australian Cricketer since Shane Warne who was banned for a year in 2003 after being found positive during drug

2.Spot Fixing by Pakistani player in 2010. Three Pakistani players Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Amir and Salman Butt were accused of accepting bribes for the 4th Test Match in England. After the they were found guilty, they were banned for more than 5 years.

3.Sydney Test Match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia in 2008. Perhaps this match along with the series was very controversial. From the Harbhajan-Symonds dispute to the controversial decision of the umpires, their match went down for wrong reasons.

4.Harbhajan Singh slapping S Sreesanth after a IPL match in 2008. After the defeat, Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth on the ground. Due to this, Harbhajan was banned from the rest of the tournament.

5.Ball tampering scandal in the Australia-South Africa Test series in 2018 by Cameron Bancroft of Australian Cricket Team. Hitting the cricketing world recently, Cameron Bancroft and Steve Smith were found guilty of tempering the ball's condition using a foreign material. As such practice is banned by International Cricket Council, Australian Captain Steve Smith has been fined for entire match fee and is handed ban for one match. This scandal has been seen as one of the worst one since the Pakistani Players involved in spot fixing. Even the Australian Prime Minister expressed his disappointment over the issue.With this scandal, the whole Australian team has been criticized for being cheat. In past also, many Australian players have been involved in controversies.

Everything turned upside down for Indian Cricketer Mohammed Shami when his wife made allegations of adultery, domestic violence, rape and match fixing against him. After various claims, an FIR was lodged against Shami and his family members at Kolkata's  Jadhavpur police station under various sections of Indian Penal Code. 1.The claims were first made on March 6 when Shami's wife Hasin Jahan posted screenshot of Shami's alleged WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger conversations on her Facebook account.

3.She also claimed that Shami had taken money from Pakistani woman Alishba on the insistence of Mohammed Bhai for match-fixing.
4.After having thorough investigation, Shami has been cleared of charges of match fixing.
5.The police investigation for domestic violence, rape and adultery is going on.
6.Mohammed Shami denied of all the charge against him and said that he would take legal action against her. Though he said that he would continue to protect her and their daughter Aairah.
